Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Milton

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

We’ll refer our patients to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon when they require specialized care for issues involving the mouth, jaw, and face. These procedures may involve wisdom teeth removal, corrective jaw surgery, and facial trauma reconstruction.

What to Expect During Oral Surgery

Once you receive a referral to the specialists, your surgeon will conduct a thorough examination and take digital X-rays to evaluate the condition of your teeth, gums, and jaw. Following the evaluation, a surgery date will be scheduled. Most dental surgeries are done on an outpatient basis using local anesthesia to ensure your comfort. If needed, the surgeon may also provide sedation options to help ease any anxiety during the procedure.

Aftercare for Oral Surgery

Your oral and maxillofacial surgeon will provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your mouth, teeth, and gums after your procedure to ensure your comfort and optimal healing. If you have concerns about an upcoming surgery, we’ll be happy to answer your questions either by phone or by appointment with the dentist.
